Unvested Stock

Unvested Stock refers to stocks that are given to employees that don't have certain mandated conditions met for them, and so they are unvested; once these specific conditions are met, they can be vested.


Refers to stocks primarily used as incentive tools in long-term compensation plans, motivating employees to meet certain milestones for full ownership.
